Message¡G0002 P
Explanation¡G TCP/IP needs to be reinstalled¡C
 
Message¡G0006 P
Explanation¡G Your installation of Internet Explorer may be corrupted. This may have happened because an installation or upgrade of IE was interrupted or performed uncorrectly. Please try to correct this situation by upgrading or installing Internet Explorer again.
 
Message¡G0014 P ( Get MAC address failed 87 )
Explanation¡G Your network card may have failed, or your network card drivers may be corrupted. Please re-install the drivers for your network card or try using a different network card.
 
Message¡G0016 P ( connection already active )
Explanation¡G Occasionally when using EnterNet 300 software to connect to HiNet ADSL you will receive this error message. This can be caused by a hardware problem in which the software believes that a hardware connection does not exist when in fact it does. To solve this problem, please power down both your ADSL Modem and your PC, and turn them back on again.
 
Message¡G0026 P ( Connection Canceled by User )
Explanation¡G This message will appear if the user elects to manually cancel the connection process.
 
Message¡G0037 P ( Authentication failed )
Explanation¡G This message will appear if the user entered their password incorrectly or the password authorizing server is malfunctioning.
   
  Solution:
 
1. Make sure your user name is correct (and includes @hinet.net) and your password is correct.
2. Please check to see if you have paid your monthly HiNet bill.
3. Check the status of your EnterNet 300 software to get BRAS Information.
  From your Network Connection:
 
¡÷ Right click, and choose¡] Properties ¡^
¡÷ Click on the¡] Services ¡^Tab
¡÷ Look at the values for ¡] Server ¡^and obtain your BRAS information.
   
PS. You will need to compare the information contained in your computer with that of the HiNet servers. Please contact customer service for more information.
PS. This situation should only occur when using ADSL for the first time or switching ISPs.
   
4. It is also possible to get this error message if your Internet equipment, such as ADSL Modem or network card is malfunctioning. Please contact HiNet for more information about troubleshooting.
   
 
Message¡G 0040 P ( Server Communication Failure (or) Timeout while connecting to server )
Explanation¡G Please 0800-080-412 for Customer service to determine if your line status is Normal (OAM test).
   
 
1. Try connecting again to HiNet ADSL and look at your ADSL Modem status lights to see if everything is normal.

If you have LLK and LAC lights, and the LLK light stays on while the LAC light flashes, please try the following steps:

 
a. From EnterNet 300 choose your Network Connection¡C
 
¡÷ Right click and choose¡] Properties ¡^.
¡÷ Click on the ¡] Configuration ¡^tab
¡÷ Look at your¡] Adapter ¡^values and make sure that your network card drivers are installed correctly.
b. Remove your network card drivers and reinstall them.
c. If your PCI card or PCI card slots are prone to malfunction, try replacing them.
d. Your ATU-R may possibly be malfunctioning. Turn off your ATU-R for one hour, turn it back on and see if the problem still continues. If not, try calling 0800-080-128 for customer service.
   
2. Please call Customer service and ask them to determine if your line status is normal (OAM test). Check the status lights on your ADSL Modem to see if the WAN lights are on; if not, check to see if your ADSL Modem is connected correctly to your telephone line.
 
a. Check to see if your telephone line is connected properly to your ATU-R.
b. Remove your splitter and microfilter and try connecting your ADSL modem directly. If you can connect to HiNet ADSL, call 0800-080-128 for customer service and notify them that your splitter or microfilter needs service¡C
c. Call HiNet customer service at 0800-080-128 and ask for a technician to help service your ADSL line.
d. Your ATU-R may possibly be malfunctioning. Turn off your ATU-R for one hour, turn it back on and see if the problem still continues. If not, try calling 0800-080-128 for customer service.
   
3. Check your EnterNet 300 Software to see if you have been assigned a Server.
 
a. Right click on your network connection.
b. Select¡] Properties ¡^ ¡÷ Then select the ¡] Services ¡^tab¡C
c. Remove any values that may be under¡] Server ¡^and¡eService¡f. This is to clear any bad server information you may have received.
d. Choose to ¡eRefresh¡f and wait to see if you receive any new server connection values.
   
4. If you are using Windows 98 / ME, you can use ASD to test your network card. Your other services may be disabled.
 
a. Choose [Start], then choose [Programs], then choose [Accessories]
b. Choose [System Tools] and open the [System Information] tool.
c. Open¡eTools¡f and run ASD.
d. Select all options that have to do with TCP/IP and your internet connection.
  PS. If you receive a message stating that ASD is not available, your driver situation is normal.
   
5. Go to your network card setup and enter the following values for your IP address. Then ¡§ping¡¨ your IP address.
 
a. If your ATU-R is model CISCO 676 set your IP to ¡÷ 10. 0. 0. 2
Subnet Mask ¡÷ 255.255.255. 0
Default Gateway ¡÷ 10. 0. 0. 1
b. If your ATU-R is model Zyxel 642 or an ALCATEL model, set your IP to ¡÷ 192.168. 1. 2
Subnet Mask ¡÷ 255.255.255. 0
Default Gateway ¡÷ 192.168. 1. 1
c. If your ATU-R is model TECOM or an ARESCOM model, set your IP to ¡÷ 192.168. 1. 2
Subnet Mask ¡÷ 255.255.255. 0
Default Gateway ¡÷ 192.168. 1. 1
d. After your IP address is set correctly, Ping your IP address, and check to see if this information is correct.
   
6. If none of the above solutions are of benefit, try reinstalling your EnterNet 300 Software. Also, check again to make sure that all your ADSL hardware is fully functional, as well as your network card. You may have to replace your PCI card slot or network card.
   
 
Message¡G 0041 P ( Failed on Create Device:NTSPPP3 )
Explanation¡G Cannot locate your NTSPPP3 drivers - because EnterNet 300 creates a virtual network driver to operate, if this virtual network driver cannot be created, the user will have to do this manually.
   
  Solution¡G Windows 98
 
1. Right click on ¡eMy Computer¡f¡÷ Select¡eProperties¡f
2. Click on the tab labeled¡eDevice Manager¡f
3. Look for¡eNetwork Devices¡f¡Aand check to see if¡eNetwork TeleSystem P.P.P.o.E Adapter¡fhas a ¡§X¡¨ indicating failure or malfunction.
4. If ¡eNetwork TeleSystem P.P.P.o.E Adapter¡fdoes have an ¡§X¡¨, enter this device and uncheck the option to [Disable] this device. Try connecting again.

If the above devices are all functioning properly, try the following steps.
5. Choose [Start], then [Settings], then [Control Panel], then [Internet]
6. Choose¡eAdd¡f¡÷¡eNetwork Card¡fand choose¡eAdd¡f
7. For Manufacturer select¡eNetwork TeleSystem¡f¡Aand choose¡eNetwork TeleSystemP.P.P.o.E Adapter(NTSP)¡fthen click¡eNext¡f
PS . If you have installed EnterNet 300 version 1.50 select ¡eEfficient Networks¡f for your Manufacturer¡Aand choose¡eEfficient Networks Enternet P.P.P.o.E Adapter¡f and click [Next]
8. A message will appear " Creating Driver Database ". After this message goes away, click on [Continue].
9. Restart your computer and try connecting to HiNet ADSL again.

If all the above steps are not effective, try the following¡G
10. Choose¡eStart¡f¡÷ then choose¡ePrograms¡f¡÷ then choose¡eAccessories¡f
11. Choose¡eSystems Tools ¡f¡÷ then choose¡eSystem Information¡f
12. Open the¡eTools¡fmenu and click on¡eAuto Skip Driver Agent¡f
13. Select all options that have to do with TCP/IP and your network card, then choose [Confirm]
PS. If there is a message stating ¡eThis machine does not contain any ASD information - operation failed¡f, then your driver should be operating normally.
14. Restart your computer and try to connect to HiNet ADSL again.
   
  Windows 2000
 
1. Right click on [My Computer¡f¡÷ and select¡eProperties¡f
2. Click on the¡eHardware¡ftab ¡÷ Choose¡eDevice Manager¡f
3. Look for¡eNetwork Adapters¡f¡Aand search to see if¡eNTS Enternet P.P.P.o.E Adapter¡fhas been crossed out with an ¡§X¡¨.

If yes, right click on this device to ¡§Enable¡¨ and try connecting to HiNet ADSL again.

If the above steps do not solve your problem, try the following¡G

5. Click on ¡eStart¡f¡÷¡eSettings¡f¡÷¡eControl Panel¡f¡÷¡eAdd or Remove Hardware¡f¡÷ Then click¡eNext¡f
6. Click¡eAdd/ Troubleshooting(A)¡fthen click¡eNext¡f¡A A " Search " dialogue should appear.
7. Inside the ¡§Select new hardware¡¨ window, choose to ¡eAdd New Hardware¡fthen click¡eNext¡f
8. Choose¡eNo, I will select my own hardware from a list¡A (O)¡fthen click¡eNext¡f
9. Under Hardware Type choose¡eNetwork Adapter¡fthen click¡eNext¡f
10. Under Manufacturer choose¡eNTS¡f¡Aand choose ¡eNTS Enternet P.P.P.o.E Adapter¡fand click on ¡eNext¡f

P.S. If you are using EnterNet 300 version 1.50¡Aplease select¡eEfficient Networks¡f¡Aand choose¡eEfficient Networks Enternet P.P.P.o.E Adapter¡f
11. Click on¡eNext¡f
12. A message will appear saying " Cannot find digital signature " ¡AClick on¡eYes¡f to continue¡AWindows will begin the installation procedure.
13. Click on ¡eFinish¡f
14. Try connecting again to HiNet ADSL
   
  Windows XP
  Windows XP has built-in P.P.P.o.E functionality, so there is no need to use EnterNet 300 software. If you have Windows XP please remove EnterNet 300 software and use the built-in Windows XP connection methods.
   
 
Message¡G 0043 P
Explanation¡G Cannot find P.P.P.o.E Adapter suitable TCP/IP so a connection driver cannot be produced. The user will need to manually remove and add this connection driver.
   
  Instructions for¡G Windows 98
   
 
1. Choose¡eStart¡f¡÷¡eSettings¡f¡÷¡eControl Panel¡f¡÷¡eInternet¡f
2. Look for ¡e TCP/IP -> Network TeleSystem P.P.P.o.E Adapter(NTSP) ¡fIf this does not exist, jump to step 7.
3. Click¡eAdd¡f¡÷¡eNetwork Protocol¡fthen click¡eAdd¡f
4. Under Manufacturer choose¡eMicrosoft¡f¡÷ and choose¡eTCP/IP¡f, then click on¡eNext¡f

PS. Windows should only have one TCP/IP Service running at one time. If there is more than one, remove all others until there is only one TCP/IP.
5. A message " Creating driver database " will appear.¡AAfter this window has closed, click on¡eOk¡f
6. Restart your computer and try connecting to HiNet ADSL again¡C
